Zachary Shutters

Zach is an intern at Sloka Therapy Group and a master’s-level student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, currently training to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. He brings a thoughtful, grounded presence to his work and approaches therapy with genuine care for the people he serves.

Zach understands that reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, uncertain, or even overwhelming. He believes clients do not need to have everything figured out before beginning—only a willingness to show up as they are. He views the therapeutic relationship as the heart of the healing process, creating a space where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. From this foundation of safety and trust, clarity can begin to emerge, and meaningful, lasting change becomes possible. Zach is intentional about moving at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful, honoring each client’s unique story and process.

In his work, Zach collaborates closely with clients to explore relationships, emotional patterns, and personal goals. He is curious about what lies beneath current challenges and how past experiences and relational dynamics may be shaping the present. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and experiential approaches, he helps clients develop greater awareness, strengthen emotional connection, and build skills that support growth, resilience, and deeper connection with themselves and others. Zach is committed to walking alongside clients as they work toward a more grounded, authentic, and fulfilling life.
